Ron Shieh is a member of Ontario Association of Architects and Royal Architectural Institute of Canada with a registered architectural practice in Ontario.

His work consists mostly of custom, client and purpose oriented projects, ranging from residential, commercial and religious building types in various sizes, scales designed within different context and perimeters, including projects such as the flagship store of Harry Rosen and Taoist Temple in Toronto and Fontana Condominium Development in Markham, along with various custom residential undertakings in new or renovation context.

The general design intent through most of his architectural projects as exhibited were his effort to retain certain quality of durability and monumentality for projects that needed more of requirement of function and efficiency as dictated by the normal design program, and tried to establish certain meaning and public significance within the existing project context which were mostly of private and spontaneous within our consumer society.

The effort in design exercise to express the project meaning and significance in the modern context included the employment and expression of contemporary materiality, exercise of classical building proportion and order, as well as spatial arrangement to generate a sense of centre, which are somewhat of the essential characteristics of theories for most classical planning and building design, as well as Fung Shui of the Ancient East .
